Pour-over coffee is the new favorite process in my house and for good reason. It's simple, quick, and produces wonderful flavored coffee. You need to be careful though, pouring water in too quickly can ruin the taste. Thankfully we have found the best kettles designed for pour-over coffee makers.

Best Overall

Firstly, matte black is just cool; we all know it. The look and feel of this kettle are fantastic, and it has so many excellent features. The Cosori kettle comes with a keep-warm function so you can be confident the water will be the right temperature when you need it. The kettle also comes with five preset temperatures, from 170 degrees Fahrenheit for white tea, all the way up to 212 degrees for boiling black tea, the Cosroi gives you maximum control over your temperatures. When you factor in the great price that comes with it, the Cosori is our favorite kettle on the list.

Best value electric

My editor has this kettle — though he went for the matte black version — and he has been really enjoying it. The gooseneck is exceptionally well designed, and the water pours at a consistent rate. The cork handle not only looks pleasing but keeps any heat away from your hands, keeping you safe. The Bodum doesn't have many bells and whistles, but sometimes that's a good thing. You may need the most basic to get you started, and the Bodum is an excellent choice for a starter kettle.

Best for the stove top

Not everyone likes to use an electric kettle. A stovetop kettle lets you control the temperature very precisely, and the Coffee Gator pour-over kettle has a cool thermometer that doubles as the lid handle. This allows you to accurately measure the heat, making sure your coffee is cooked precisely right. Coffee Gator also makes a massive 40 oz kettle for an entire family of coffee drinkers.

Premium quality

The Stagg EKG by Fellow is the cream of the crop when it comes to pour-over kettles. For a start, it's beautiful, with a nearly all-black aesthetic, with just a hint of stainless steel. It's smart, too, as it allows you to choose your temperature using a dial. This means you can set the exact temperature — to the degree — that you want your water to be. With a 1200 watt heater, the Stagg heats up quickly, and with an hour hold timer, it will stay warm for whenever you need it. It even has a timer to help you with your brewing time. Making sure your coffee brews exactly right seems to be the aim of the Stagg, and it works exceptionally well.

This gorgeous copper-colored kettle is an excellent starting point for the pour-over beginner. It's big; at 40 oz, you should be able to make a lot of coffee, and the handle has the handy thermometer that we see in these types of kettles. The OPUX even comes with a little cleaning brush to keep your gooseneck free from contaminants.

I love good pour-over coffee. Once you have all the equipment, you need the process becomes simple to do and even enjoyable to make. The Cosori electric kettle is superb, with so many choices of temperatures and that gorgeous matte black body. If you prefer to heat your kettle with fire, rather than electricity, then the Coffee Gator is the perfect kettle for you.
