Woks are a great way to cook a variety of foods in large quantities. From stir fry to teriyaki chicken, a wok helps you make delicious food in a traditional way. We've spent some time cooking with a variety of woks and have given you a shortlist of our favorites, right here.
Tefal Comfort Max Stainless Steel Non-stick Wok
A modern looking wok
The Tefal wok feels like it was made in the future. It's thick, non-stick bowl feels incredible, and Tefal signature Thermo-spot tells you when the wok is hot enough to start cooking. The base is also designed to work well with induction based hobs, making it a great choice for modern kitchens that don't use gas. I found it the most comfortable of the woks, and very easy to clean as it's dishwasher safe!
Craft Wok Traditional Hand Hammered Carbon Steel Pow Wok
A beautiful piece of kitchenware
The future is cool, but tradition is just as cool. This hand-hammered wok is beautiful and, I think, adds a distinctive flavour to the food it cooks. It may not be dishwasher safe, but it adds a touch of class to any kitchen. I really enjoyed the weight of this wok as it makes tossing your stir fry a great experience.
Ken Hom Classic Non-Stick Wok
Long handle for extra flip!
Ken Hom has been a name to trust for years. His kitchen wares are well designed and offer great quality at a great price. This non-stick wok is the perfect balance of size, quality, and cost. If you are a first time wok user, this is a good choice for you.
MasterClass Professional Large Non Stick Wok
A wok with more control
When you are using a large wok like the MasterClass Professional, you need the extra handle on the other side to keep you balanced. With it, you can easily pour the food out into bowls or swirl your curry around with ease. It's also capable of reaching extremely high temperatures, which helps cook food with a different flavour and texture.
Circulon Infinite Wok
Short handles for a smaller space
The Circulon wok has a lot of great parts all working together. The two easy-grip handles on either side make it much easier to use in a smaller kitchen, while the heavy lid lets you steam foods successfully. The induction-compatible bottom makes it a versatile choice, and having it dishwasher safe makes it a clean choice too!
Brabantia Profile Line Wok Turner
Great for traditional woks
A great wok needs a great turner. Sure, you can use a standard fish slice I suppose, but the long handle and wide scoop allow you to take advantage of the full size of the wok. This is made from stainless steel though, so don't use it on your non-stick wok.
Wok a lot of choice!
Why you can trust Real Homes
I love cooking with my wok. We often have delicious egg fried rice that just doesn't as good if it isn't made in a wok. I went with the Tefal Comfort Max Stainless Steel Non-stick Wok because of its modern look, and heavy base. It really looks great in my kitchen, and the thermo-spot means it's always the right temperature for the best results.
If you are looking for something more traditional though, the Craft Wok Traditional Hand Hammered Pow Wok is a firm favourite of mine. I love the hammered look of the metal and the lack of non-stick coating allows for more caramelisation in the pan. That changes the flavours and gives it a unique taste that some modern woks seem to miss.
