Call it acrylic, lucite, or plexiglass, I simply cannot get enough of this clear decor trend. Add an acrylic desk chair, side table, or even a couple of shelves to an apartment and it immediately looks cool, stylish, and super modern — that's a fact. See-through furniture makes the most of available light, and gives the illusion of space, making it just as practical, as it is pretty for small apartments, like mine.
Acrylic home decor first emerged in the '60s and '70s but hit popularity in the early '00s thanks to iconic furniture designs like Philippe Stark's Louis Ghost Chair (YK2 interior lovers, you've probably got a great dupe at your dressing table). Though the obsession for clear decor continues to stand the test of time, with #acrylicfurniture hitting a huge 7.1 million views on TikTok.
From the viral acrylic desk stand to all the clear containers you can get to make your home organized AF, I've got it. Here are all the lucite home finds I have in my home, and a few other options, for full transparency.
1. Acrylic chair
If like me you have a small home or your bedroom doubles up as your WFH area, you're going to need a chair (or two) that you can tuck away without taking up too much space: a see-through chair will look *almost* as if it's not there. My bedroom isn't huge, and my clear seat looks effortlessly styled under my glass console table. You'll see me sitting comfortably on IKEA's Tobais clear chair, while working from home, though there are SO many amazing desk chairs to modernize your office space or elevate your tiny dining table.

2. See-through shelves
Renters, you'll wanna add some see-through shelves to your basket RN, because these bbys have totally transformed the look of my bare-walled bedroom. With landlord rules prohibiting me from painting, installing floating shelves, or adding too much artwork to the walls, I wanted a way to get some color going on. I have an extensive collection of print mags (mainly Real Homes magazines) and these acrylic shelves have allowed for an uber-stylish way to display them. I've mounted them with command strips FYI.

3. The acrylic desk stand TikTok made me buy
So this was a buy I didn't totally need, but I really wanted. TikTok's viral clear desk stand was all over my FYP, and costing just $40, I had to add to have one. Sitting pretty on my desk, laptop on top, keyboard underneath, it just gets me so much more motivated to work, idk about you. My office space looks much more styled and I also have all the satisfying shopping feels that come with getting something everyone else has.

4. Sleek storage
Did I even buy it if it's not on TikTok? Seriously, I cannot stop scrolling organization ASMR, and consequently, I have bought (one too many) clear containers. My fridge is fully stocked, make-up neatly packed away, and skincare organized to my clean-girl heart's content — I even have my match sticks in a cute clear container. Your bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen will look completely aesthetic. And the good thing is you can bulk-buy acrylic organizers from Amazon and have your home, small or large, tidied in no time.
