Think potato chips, but made of pasta. Yes, it really is that straightforward. By cooking and then air frying your pasta with whatever seasoning you desire, this dish is totally customizable, and because it only takes a drizzle of oil, it’s also healthier than many store-bought potato chips!

How to make pasta chips

1. Boil your pasta

You want your pasta to boil away until it’s fully cooked, past that al dente stage. Choosing different shells is a fun way to add your own twist and experiment with air fryer pasta chips, but we used fusili.

We used a handful of pasta when trying out this recipe. It doesn’t require any specific measurements because the dish is so customizable.

2. Add your flavorings

Once boiled and drained, we tossed the pasta in a drizzle of olive oil. Because it doesn’t absorb the oil, you really won’t need much. We also added a good handful of grated parmesan, some salt, pepper, mixed herbs and paprika.

3. Cook in the air fryer, and enjoy!

We added to our air fryer at 400°F (200°C) for eight minutes. Keep an eye on your pasta as it cooks, because you don’t want it to burn and every type of pasta is different.

Be sure to shake up your pasta a few to ensure that it is cooked evenly. The dish won’t take long, but it does take some supervision.

How to eat air fried pasta chips

Once cooked we tipped the pasta chips into a bowl and demolished them instantly. They’re great dipped in hummus, but you could also dip them in a queso or salsa dip depending on the spices you used.
