You heard it here first: there's a new B&Q furniture range available to buy online (or to click and collect). And, this stuff is seriously stylish – we are impressed, B&Q! From velvet chairs to mid-century modern coffee tablees, Skandi-style shelving and all types of side tables. It's all super affordable, too – prices start at £28.
Whether you are looking to update your living room as you feel you've spent so much time in there that it's boring, or, maybe some of your furniture is looking a little used (it probably is thanks to 2020). You know what we say: new year, new furniture – kidding, of course! We obviously only suggest replacing furniture when need be, but at the same time we can't pass up the chance to shop gorgeous new buys – we'll just have to find space for B&Q's new range. Who needs a dining table, anyway?
Keep scrolling for our five favourite B&Q buys from their new range – get your purse out in preparation as we can't promise you won't be convinced. Visit our dedicated shopping page for the inside scoop on what else you should be buying in January 2021.

1. This gorgeous velvet armchair that comes in lots of colours
Turio Burnt orange Velvet effect Chair | £78 at B&Q
This bargain armchair is pretty, practical and for an extra £12 – that's £100 in total – you'll get a matching stool with it for popping your feet up. Upholstered in velvet fabric and available in Burnt Orange, Forest Green, Deep Blue and Stone Grey, it's an easy way to add a pop of colour to your home. And, it's a lovely (and comfy) place to enjoy a book and a cuppa. We're thinking ahead here but we know you love it!
2. This dark wooden coffee table – perfect for mid-century modern homes
Atico Coffee table | £70 at B&Q
Need a new coffee table? Looking for something for your mid-century modern home? This dark wooden option features a solid wood top – made from responsibly sourced FSC certified solid acacia wood – and black metal legs. Pair with the matching side tables (these slide underneath for storing) and you're set.
3. This space-saving side table bundle for smaller living rooms
Merak Matt white & natural Non extendable Side table | £49 at B&Q
First thing first, £49 for two side tables is a bargain. Secondly, they both have solid wood legs so that's 10 points from us. Then, there's the fact they are perfectly plain so as to fit into any home – particularly Skandi-inspired spaces. Pop the smaller table under the larger one when not in use to save space. When you need the space (for nibbles and wine), just pull it out again. Or, use them in different rooms – your home office could do with a coffee table, right?
4. A matte black side table for modern spaces
Oscuro Matt black Side table | £20 at B&Q
This plain side table is perfect for busy living rooms – it's practical yet won't take centre stage. It's small, and a bargain too! Pop a few (Real Homes) magazines on top and your fave candle and ta-dah...
5. This clever shelving system that doubles as a bookcase
Ebru White oak effect Painted 4 Shelf Bookcase | £115 at B&QEbru White oak effect Painted 4 Shelf Bookcase | £115 at B&Q
This Skandi-inspired bookcase is practical and stylish. It features five large shelves for displaying books, candles, artwork and more, as well as a large drawer at the bottom for things you'd prefer to hide away – wires, remote controls... all the ugly stuff. Oh, and it's pretty versatile as you can use it everywhere from your home office to your bedroom, a hallway or even your bathroom – because why not?

Hi! I'm Annie, and I'm the Head Ecommerce Editor at Real Homes. I've been part of the Real Homes team since 2018, when I joined as Deals Editor. Along with covering major sales events — from Black Friday to Amazon Prime Day — I review home must-haves so that you can buy with peace of mind. Mostly focusing on home fragrance and sleep, as well as a few vacuum cleaners, I've tested pretty much every item you can think of that you need in your home. I live on the outskirts of the city in a two-bed apartment with my husband and my pug, Doug. So I am always searching for compact alternatives and ways to save floor space. What about when I am not typing away? Well, you'll find me enjoying an iced coffee (no matter the season) and trying out the latest brunch spots the city has to offer, or booking my next holiday.
