We all know that Alexa, Siri and Google Assistant can play music for us or check the weather, but can you correctly guess all the other smart home items they can control?
As part of National Smart Home Month, the Real Homes Show carried out a survey on tech usage. Of the thousands we asked, only 30 per cent correctly guessed which items from the following list could be controlled by a voice assistant or smart speaker. How would you get on?
Simply select all of the smart products in the list below that you think can be controlled by a voice assistant:
- Heating
- Lighting
- Security camera
- Oven
- Plugs
- Blinds
- Fridge
- Washing machine
- Doorbell
- Lock
- Robot vacuum cleaner
- Automated pet feeder
- All of the above
The correct answer is that all of them can be controlled using your voice assistant if you have the right products and apps.
To help make home tech easier to understand, we've created a special episode of the Real Homes Show, in partnership with our colleagues TechRadar. Watch now for tech expert James Peckham explaining what a smart home is, how it'll make your life easier, and how to get started.
