Furniture Village just revealed their 2020 interior trends...

We have always been big fans of Furniture Village, they make amazing quality furniture that's built to last and their prices are always really reasonable. So we were really excited when they sent through their trends for 2020; January is a grim month and we all need some pretty interiors to look at so here you are...

1. Architectural structures

The trend is a bit of a twist on the industrial look that's been super popular for the last few years. It's a cleaner, more contemporary vibe, and a lot of the furniture has x-frames and angled legs to create stark lines and interesting shapes. It's all softened up by light woods and rich shades of amber and ochre.

The Chennai shelving unit fits with the trend perfectly, as it mixes that really architectural, almost harsh looking metal frame and shape with the wooden shelves. The shelves are actually made from reclaimed railway sleeper wood from India and have a lovely rustic look.

2. Pistachio and caramel

The Pistachio and Caramel trend is obviously a lot softer, a perfect look for a living room or bedroom. It's a very calm colour palette – the cool soft greens and warm subtle browns balance perfectly to create a very serene vibe. To create the trend Furniture Village have chosen pieces that are elegantly understated in neutral shades and lots of warm wood finishes. Such an easy trend to incorporate into your home – we love it.

3. Retro rainbow

If you love colour in your home, this is the trend for you. All the colours are really vivid but also have a slightly muted aspect to them so they aren't too kid's bedroom-esque. There's definitely a Mid-century vibe to the shapes of the furniture and then a 70s feel to the patterns and colours.

4. Japanese feminine

Japanese-style interiors were massive last year, and for 2020 Furniture Village has given the trend a fresher, lighter twist. The look is all about minimal furniture and creating a calm and uncluttered space. It's a mostly neutral colour pallete with just a few splashes of teal and soft pinks that mimic the cherry blossom Japan is known for.

5. A hint of mint

All about those soothing, pale greens at Furniture Village this year. The mint is slightly more vibrant – and fresher – than the pistachio and the look is definitely more cool toned. It works so perfectly with grey, which is why the stunning Ercol Bellaria sofa has been chosen as the star of the trend. The pale pallete is grounded using brighter blues and zesty yellows and limes – the perfect trend for a spring update.

6. Russet and dusky rose

And of course, there had to be some pink thrown in there. Will our love of this dusky rose hue ever die? We don't think so. This trend is all about layering different toned pinks, and adding plenty of interest with different textures to prevent the look becoming too Barbie Malibu Dream House. The key piece is the Harrison Spinks divan bed in this gorgeous light pink velvet.
