Okay okay, we know we are in the depths of Christmas madness right now, and spring and summer are probably the last things on your minds BUT, when John Lewis shared we us their new SS2021 look book well we were out of Christmas and dreaming of warm nights and gorgeous summery interiors.
And we of course had to give you a sneak peek too, so you too can be reminded it's not always dark at three o'clock and you won't always have to WFH in a hat and gloves. So here are five new looks that we love and will, come January, definitely be stealing for our own homes.

1. Go for a modern Med vibe
The spring/summer John Lewis look book, has three main gorgeous trends – Modern Mediterranean, Natural Scandinavian and Heritage revival. All are equally lovely and equally easy to bring into your home. We are a sucker for a Med vibe so that trend has got to be our fave, it's all about sun-bleached colours, natural textures, and of course a load of terracotta.
Fionnuala Johnston, Partner & Senior Home Designer (and of course trend expert!) says about this trend: 'Inspired by the design and culture of southern France, this trend embodies creativity and modern mediterranean living. The indoor, outdoor style that is evocative of a relaxed holiday feel makes these spaces inviting and sociable, places that you want to spend time in.' Ah remember relaxing holidays?
2. Keep things simple and Scandi
Scandi style is always going to be in year after year, but each new trend comes back slightly differently. This Natural Scandinavian trend is a mix of two popular trends we associate with the Scandis – all those soft textures and then very strong lines and statement designs. Together they just work so well, and such an easy style to bring into your home.
'Natural Scandinavian is forward looking in its design and style credentials and has been inspired by the growing trend of flexible living. Comfort and quality take precedence in this minimal aesthetic that provides space for escapism and slow living. Low slung chairs, textured rugs and soft linens promote a harmonious scheme. There’s a nod to the enduring Scandi aesthetic of warm neutrals and pale woods mixed with accents of bold, linear lines and sculptural lighting that provide focal points and definition. Organic shaped ceramics contrast with the architectural influences of abstract prints and hexagonal furniture.' Says Fionnuala

3. Embrace the heritage trends
Grandmillenial, granny-chic, cottage core, whatever you want to call it, this trend for old-fashioned, cosy interiors is back for 2021 and personally, we love it. Mix patterns, pick out deep, worn looking colours, but also mix in modern pieces to give the look a bit of an edge.
Fionnuala explains that 'Colour, pattern and detail are at the core of our Heritage Revival trend. Once again we have explored our archives for authentic sources of inspiration and discovered designs rich in history that we have reimagined and brought back to life. The colour palette of Ochre, Mallard Green and Sage are paired with dark wood and warm metals. Wallpaper remains a strong favourite among customers and here we have used surprising designs to capture the essence of this trend. Use a mix of old favourites and new pieces to achieve this eclectic look and remember this trend is a celebration of colour so be bold with your choices.'
4. Keep your WFH simple
Of course home offices had to come into it, 2021 is going to be a year of working from home for a lot of people, so it's time to make sure your space makes you feel productive and inspired. The Natural Scandi trend is perfect for home offices because it's simple, and clean, free of clutter and distractions but still comfy and inviting.
5. Add texture with cane furniture
The trend for rattan and cane furniture is clearly still going strong into 2021 – sideboards, chairs and beds are all really easy ways to bring this stylish material into your home. You can style it so many different way too from a simple Scandi bedroom like the gorgeous one above to a busy boho living room that's got more of an eclectic vibe.
