Gone are the days when our Argos shopping basket would have held an electric toothbrush and a plastic toy for a child and nothing else. Now, we're filling our baskets with the stunning homeware ranges that seem to have come from nowhere.
The latest? A fab bedroom range called Highland Lodge. It's packed with everything you want in your home in autumn: rustic furniture, cosy textiles and characterful accessories. We're big fans, especially of the pieces below which we've picked out as our favourites. Go on, have a browse. You know it makes sense.
Then maybe you can hop over to our bedroom ideas page to find out what else we've come across lately...
1. Cute hedgehog tealight holders (screams Christmas gift!)
Looking for knick knacks for your bedroom? These adorable hedgehog tealight holders are bang on trend for this autumn; pop spicy scented tealights in them to conjure up a welcoming feel in your bedroom. Made from resin, they have the look of cast bronze.
Argos Home Highlands Hedgehog Tealight Holders, £8.
2. A pendant shade, perfect for bedroom updates
Want to revamp your bedroom without going the whole hog? New accessories, such as lampshades, can make a big impact. Bursting with brilliant colour and delicate detailing, the Highland Lodge shade is full of country living charm. It has a hand-painted effect, flora and fauna motifs, and faux silk base, plus the light it throws out is warming and cheerful. It measures H25cm x D40cm.
Argos Home Highland Lodge Shade £20.

3. A tartan rug to make a plain floor quickly cosy
Got a hard wood floor in your bedroom – or maybe you rent and want to cover up an ugly carpet or warm up a plain one? This Home Wool check rug will do the trick. Handwoven from 100 per cent wool, it's soft underfoot, while its carpet backing means it won't slip when you walk on it. One for each side of the bed, please. It measures 120cm x 160cm.
4. A tartan cushion for indoors or out
Talking of tartan... you can easily add warmth and texture to your bedroom by piling cushions on your bed – and the warm, rustic red hues and soft brush fabric of this one make it the perfect choice. It's machine washable, so and made of acrylic, so it'll do in the garden in the summer, too. It measures L50cm x W50cm.
Home Highlands brushed check cushion, £14.
5. A table lamp with animal magic
f you go down to the woods today... you won't find this lamp, but it's cute, right? This foxy lamp has an on trend metallic finish and is topped with a smooth fabric shade for a homely, rustic feel. And in keeping with the natural textured look, the cord has a fabric covering. We can see it on a bedside table or dressing table. It'll look good in the living room, too. It measures H42.5cm x W20cm x D20cm.
Fox table Lamp in bronze and grey £30.
6. A scented candle to set the scene
If your bedroom could do with a lift, here's a quick solution: a scented candle. This pretty buy has a real seasonal scent of figs combined with top notes of orange, elderberry and raspberry, with floral accords of gardenia and rose. That's us ready for Christmas. Presented in a lidded glass jar, the votive candle is surrounded by dried flowers and bubble-filled gel. Another Christmas gift in the making, we think. Approximate burn time is 10 hours.
Elderberry & Fig Leaf Gel Candle, £8.
7. Our favourite... a hare cushion to fit all colour schemes
Full disclosure: we LOVE this one! It's the perfect buy because a) it'll never date and b) its design and colourway means it will fit with any scheme and c) it's perfect for both contemporary settings. Put this on our Christmas list, too, please (we're starting to think this whole exercise has been about our Christmas wishlist). This natural fabric cushion is finished with elegant chocolate piping, and has a stunning painted-effect hare graphic motif. It measures L50cm x W50cm and the cover is machine washable.
Highlands Hare Print Cushion, £14.
8. A four-poster bed we're ready to order
We talked about this bed in our news piece yesterday. Worth knowing, other than that it's on sale with 25 per cent off, that it's one of those 'can't go wrong – ever' buys, that it'll suit small bedrooms because of its sleek design AND that it comes in white? Er... nothing, other than we'd hurry while stocks last because we think this one's going to go fast. It measures W145cm x L200cm x H200cm.
Blissford Four Poster Double Bed Frame in pine, £298.99 (was £399).
