On January 22nd, families all around the world will be ringing in the Lunar New Year and welcoming the Year of the Rabbit over a span of 15 days. To celebrate, homeware brand Our Place has released a stunning limited-edition red Always Pan, Perfect Pot, and a set of hand-glazed rice bowls accompanied by chopsticks and chopstick rests. Taking a closer look, you'll find traditional aspects of the celebrations incorporated all throughout.
The bold new Firecracker red shade represents luck, and the handmade rice bowls feature designs by artist Vanilla Chi. There's also a spruce steamer that's specially made to fit into the brand's pot and pan. Lunar New Year is traditionally spent with family, and everything in this set feels perfect for a dinner with loved ones.
The Lunar New Year pieces are the latest additions to the Traditionware collection, which uplifts, celebrates, and honors the traditions of historically underrepresented cultures and communities. Its current lineup includes a Diwali fry set, a beautiful marbled Moroccan tagine, and a flipping platter with a choice of artwork that features either traditional Persian, Arabic, or Korean phrases.
The collection especially speaks to the story behind Our Place and its co-founder Shiza Shahid, who immigrated to the United States from Pakistan. She created Our Place with the idea of creating community through food and bringing traditions from her culture into her life.
"We started Our Place to build a bigger table, one that would have room for all of us," she explains in her mission statement. "Our work here is rooted in authenticity and representation."
