Ikea's iconic wing chair gets a makeover

We remember when Ikea's wing chair was introduced to stores. 'Nah, that'll never take off,' we thought. 'Who's buying wing chairs these days?' Then we spotted the yellow take on it (loved it but knew the grey was a safer choice). Then other colours started to creep into the range, and finally bang-on-trend patterned pieces. Yup, the wing chair has slowly crept back into our living rooms – and it's got a whole new lease of life.

The latest look we're loving for it? The hound's tooth check. Catwalk-inspired but darned practical, it's perfect for adding a touch of family-friendly texture to plain living rooms. And while we like it in all-white rooms, we think it's best suited in grey living rooms, as seen here in Ikea's recent Insta-post.
